This was the reason for the error! I have no idea why it allowed for the first time after creating the topology for it to start, but after after removing the “#” character in VirtualBox Manager configuration for this machine, deleting the host from virtual box configuration in GNS3, refreshing the VM machines and adding virtual box guest again and replacing the faulty one in topology everything starts properly. But when you close the GNS3 and reopen, it gives following error when trying to run all devices:ġ4:24:32: DEBUG (1): sending to vboxwrapper at 127.0.0.1:11525 -> vbox start Ubuntu3ġ4:24:32: DEBUG (1): returned -> Īfter spending some time googling and checking, I found on GNS3 forum reference to forbidden characters in ( ), and then it came to me – I have “#” in name of VM Machine. Ubuntu3 VBoxDevice running 127.0.0.1:11525 not activated n/a Starting the topology is a success, VirtualBox guest is correctly run. Sample topology is very simple, one router + switch + virtual box host (Virtualbox host is properly added in GNS3 configuration): If anyone found a way to do this from MAC, please share in comments – untill then it just works using windows client.Ĭsr1000v-universalk9.03.11.02.S.Ĭsr1000v-universalk9.03.15.00.S. Most google searches got me bouncing around trying to do various things (either unpacking, uncompressed, rewriting files, using ovftool, changing browsers) – none of them worked for me. The only thing that does not work for me on MAC is. You can later manage those VM’s from the web interface from MAC.
